Grievance investigation and case preparation
Turn what happened into a case you can work.
StewardsDesk helps letter carriers and their stewards see what is established, what is still unknown, what evidence matters, and what to do next, with the record and the contract in view.
For NALC branches. Carriers, stewards, and branch officers work from one shared case.
One case, two views
Start it as a carrier. Work it as a steward. It is the same case.
For letter carriers
Start with what happened.
Tell StewardsDesk what happened at work, or about a document you received. It asks focused follow-up questions, then explains what might matter, what to keep, and whether it is worth talking to your steward.
You can always talk to your steward, no matter what it finds.
For stewards
Pick up the same case, with the depth you need.
See what the record supports and where it came from, what remains unresolved, which authority applies, what evidence is still needed, and what deadlines may apply. When the case changes, the analysis catches up, so your time goes to investigation instead of re-running reports.

For branch officers
How a branch gets started
Your branch votes to adopt StewardsDesk.
For branch registration, we ask for a signed motion or meeting minutes recording the vote.
An officer registers the branch.
Create a union account, enter your branch number, and attach the motion. It takes a few minutes.
We review and activate the branch.
We review the motion and contact the person your branch provides.
Your branch approves its own members.
Stewards and carriers request membership. Your branch admin approves them and decides who can do what. StewardsDesk never decides who belongs to your branch.

What StewardsDesk will not do
Decide a grievance.
It shows what the evidence supports and what it does not. The judgment stays with your steward.
File anything on its own.
Filing-oriented work product exists only when a steward explicitly asks for it.
Hide what it does not know.
Missing evidence becomes a question or a next step, never confident prose.
Give legal advice.
StewardsDesk supports case preparation. It is not a lawyer and not a substitute for your steward or your branch.
